Term two...and...DONE!

"A sandwich just isn't a sandwich without the tangy zip of Miracle Whip!"

I miss Miracle Whip. We ate toasted tomato sandwiches tonight and they just weren't the same. It just reminds me that there are some things about Canada that I just wouldn't be able to live without. Although I guess I can't really say that, since I have lived without it for the last 7 months! We can't wait to get back to Canada and the country that we know and love!

Today was the last day of school before the Easter break. One thing we like about British schools is that they give us two whole weeks off!! We are preparing to head out to Egypt in a few days. We're getting very excited. Egypt has so much history, and there is so much to see and do. I hope we can fit it all in without exhausting ourselves in the process!! Part of the joy of having a vacation is being able to relax and recharge. Lucky for us we will have a few days on the Red Sea to try and do just that. As soon as we have pictures and access to the internet we will get them up. The kids in my class were really cute today. They were very concerned whether or not I was going back to Canada. They wanted to know if I was going to visit my mom and dad. I said no, that I was going to visit my mummy! They got a kick out of it. I know that my jokes aren't funny, but to a bunch of 7 year olds I am HILARIOUS!!

Oh, and Steve is doing really well. Hopefully I will be going for my first ultrasound after we get back from vacation. Right now I just have to sit and wait for the hospital to contact me with a time and date!

Ready or Not

Ok, so I know I already posted a blog today, thanks to Aunt Linda, but I don't know if I can keep this a secret any longer AND tell people that nothing is going on...does that make me a fraud?? A blogger fraud??

Anyway, YES it is official. We have joined the ranks of pending parenthood. Our bambino is still a tiny speck, but loved nonetheless. We have dubbed it "Steve" (if you've never seen Over the Hedge, now would be the time to rent it). Steve is making mommy very happy and maybe a bit sickly, but mostly happy. Most days I hardly even remember the baby while I am pretending to be a mother to 27 little ones!! Who am I kidding, Steve is always on my mind!!

We are very excited. We will be having Steve in Canada sometime in late fall. Maybe a Hallowe'en baby? We'll see.

Ok, so seriously, that's all that's going on. Other than THAT we really have nothing exciting happening...

My Boring British Existance

I am going to take a cue from Julie and remind everyone out there how BORING my life is. I know, I know, everyone is dying to know the ins and outs of my day, but honestly, this is how it goes...

5:50am: the alarm rings - Ryan hits snooze.
6:00am: I get up and shower - Ryan hits snooze.
6:30am: We both are up and dressed, I am getting ready to leave for the day, Ryan is making lunches.
6:50am: I leave for school - 10 minute walk later I am on the bus.
7:30am: I arrive at school, check my email, get ready for the day.
8:50am: The children arrive. I spend all day running around after them, sorting out their problems, and generally making their lives horrible by assigning extra homework (imagine!!)
5:00pm: I leave school and head home.
6:00pm: I eat a fantastic meal that my wonderful husband has prepared.
7:00pm: We watch a show, usually House, sometimes 24, occasionally Grey's Anatomy or Amazing Race.
8:30pm: I'm already asleep, whether the show is over or not!!

Seriously, when I say I get up, go to work, come home and go back to sleep, that is HONESTLY what I do!!

I'm sorry that our lives are not more interesting, although I have a feeling that the next couple of weeks should be VERY INTERESTING!!!

First of all, we are leaving for Egypt in 10 days. Oh, and in case anyone cares, we are also OFFICIALLY coming home August 3rd. We bought our tickets last weekend because we needed some assurance that we were coming home!!
So keep your eyes on the blog, I promise I will try and make things more interesting from now on, even if that means making up stuff!!!
